In my personal opinion, the world
that we live in and experience influence us in major ways. These influences may
be good or bad, large or small however each one makes an impact in our lives.
The human race is always consuming ideas and media. Most of these influences
come from social media and other forms of technology, such as T.V and Internet.
An example of such an influence
would be the website www.reddit.com. Reddit,
is a website where people post links, and users vote on those links,
determining what links are the best and which are the worst. Reddit is
extremely good at what it does, and since there are over 85 million unique
visitors of the site, it influences many different people.
The culture of reddit is unique
because of how it influences people. In 2008 reddit voted to name a whale being
saved by Greenpeace Mr. Splashy Pants gathering over 78% of all votes. This
influence that reddit had over the community just proves how external sources can
influence people.
Sites such as www.reddit.com impact people in many unique
ways. These sites change viewpoints, and generate new ideas that impact our
everyday lives. In the future, I can only foresee these influences becoming
stronger, which can be a very good, or a very bad thing.
